*Note: Sugar Alcohol sweeteners, such as maltitol etc., have a negligible effect on blood sugar levels. These are included in the total carb count, but are not included in the net effective carbohydrate count as they have a negligible effect on blood sugar levels. With the sugar alcohols and dietary fiber subtracted from the total carbohydrate count, you get the net effective carbs.
